Good Harbor Bay Property Donation: Sale Will Help Protect More Land and Water in Leelanau!
Your Dream Property?
We are so fortunate that a generous family with deep ties to Leelanau has gifted a half-ownership over a spectacular five-acre residential lot on Good Harbor Bay to the Conservancy. Their wish is for the Conservancy and the family member who holds the other half of the ownership to sell this lot, and use the proceeds to protect more land and water quality in Leelanau.
In her own words, Ann Stack describes her motivation to generously donate the proceeds of the sale to promote the Conservancy’s conservation efforts.
“Ever since I read Rachel Carson’s book, ‘Silent Spring,’ I’ve become increasingly aware and dismayed over the degradation of places where I’ve lived and visited. The Leelanau Conservancy, with its prescient and committed founders, staff, and board is providing genuine stewardship for one of the places I love most. My share in the Good Harbor Bay property was made possible through the generosity of my grandparents who are responsible for introducing me to the Leelanau peninsula. It gives me great pleasure to remember them and their legacy through my gift of the property to the Leelanau Conservancy.”–Ann Stack
