Tyler is from the surrounding Flint area and graduated from the University of Michigan – Flint Campus with a bachelor’s degree in wildlife biology. Having helped in undergraduate research studying bee and fish populations Tyler knew a career in the natural resources was his calling. Tyler completed his first Huron Pines AmeriCorps service term in Lansing with Michigan United Conservation Clubs helping coordinate volunteers to conserve habitat as well as assist in education and outreach. After completing his service term, Tyler decided to come back for another service term. Tyler’s love for the majesty of northern Michigan’s forests made choosing the Leelanau Conservancy for his second service term an easy choice.
When not serving at the Conservancy you’ll find Tyler fishing, camping, hiking, taking pictures of plants to ID them and standing around with his binoculars trying to find birds
