I have a wide range of hobbies/interests: I love cooking, anime (SAILOR MOON), botany/mycology, fashion, music, animals, peace, comic book series (MARVEL and DC), learning, osteopathic medicinal practices, kickboxing/yoga, autism awareness, and beauty cosmetics. I love rendering body wax and facial services and do so sporadically throughout every year. Skin TIP: L-Lysine is a great daily supplement for skin cellular repair/healing! I am a jack of all trades, a master of none; there is so much to learn.

My educational background is multifaceted. 2012, I earned my esthetician (skin therapist) certification from L’esprit Academy and a state license. In 2014, I attained a pharmacy technician certification from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) and now work contingently as an MI state-licensed and certified logistics pharmacy technician at Trinity Health Hospital in Washtenaw County (Ypsilanti / Ann Arbor, MI). I earned my associate degree in science (concentration: BIO CHEM) from Schoolcraft College (SC) in Livonia, MI. I graduated from SC as a double honors student (Phi Theta Kappa and SC Scholars Honors Program) in 2017. I served as a VP in the Omicron Iota Chapter for two years at SC and organized many volunteer events there. In August of 2022, I completed my bachelor’s degree in science at Eastern Michigan University (Double Major: Interdisciplinary Environmental Science and Society Concentration: Science and Society (Public Policy and Environmental Law), Minor in Botany, and a Certified Nonprofit Professional (CNP) Certificate / Credential through the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance (NLA) at EMU). I graduated with honors credits from EMU and have conducted a few research and capstone projects.

Experience: I have worked in the pharmacy field since 2009. I serve and volunteer sporadically as a citizen forester at the Greening of Detroit, Growing Hope Ypsilanti, St. Leo’s Soup Kitchen, and Cass Community Social Services, to name a few NPOs. This past year, I served as an MDHHS SDOH community influencer in Region 10. In 2022, I served as a full-time AmeriCorps member during the 2022-2023 school year at University Preparatory Academy Political Science, Art, and Design High School (UPA PSAD) as a Michigan College Access Network (MCAN) ADVISE MI college and career adviser. 2016, I was a visiting student lab technician in an undergraduate fellowship program, CCSFP UROP, at the University of Michigan Ann Arbor.

What led me to AmeriCorps service and environmental work? As a CNP, I love volunteering and being a proactive member working within any nonprofit organization that aligns with fair, equitable moral practices and resourcefulness that aims to help those in need, animals, plants, people, etcetera. My father was a bona fide self-taught tree artisan and environmental conservationist who ignited the fiery passion and tenacity I have to learn and work within the field of botany and environmental science. During last year’s AmeriCorps service term with MCAN, I discovered Huron Pines after searching for environmental / conservation service positions via the AmeriCorps website.

Random facts about me: I was born in Detroit, moved independently to Ypsilanti in 2009, and moved to Belleville (Van Buren Charter Township) in 2014, where I currently reside. I have two beautiful sons; my youngest son (Paul) was diagnosed with autism in 2015.
