You are invited to join us in a tree planting at Palmer Woods on Monday April 30th. The plan is to meet in the main parking lot at 10am. We will have vehicles to transport folks to the planting location shortly after that. Natural Areas and Preserves staff will be out all day, but we hope to get the lions share done from 10a-1p.
Feel free to drop by at any time during the day and stay for as long as works for you. Even if you’re just able to make a quick stop to plant a few trees, any and all help is appreciated.
Planting location will be in the “Palmer Flats” just West of hiking post 6. This location is in the heart of Palmer Woods directly adjacent to the newest 80-acre addition we added late last year. Portions of the planting are restoring legacy logging roads on level terrain, making the site more accessible than most tree plantings we have done.
All tools will be on site and the only things that may be helpful to bring are water, sturdy shoes, and work gloves. If you’re planning on staying a while bringing a lunch or snacks might be a good idea. We will have light snacks and a jug of drinking water on site where it will be possible to refill your reusable water bottle.
