School Lake has a natural, largely undeveloped shoreline and feels like a wilderness lake. Join docents from the Conservancy as we explore this quiet body of water and some nearby features.
After crossing the lake we’ll paddle into a beautiful kettle lake that connects on the western shore. Depending on water levels, we might portage into Bass Lake on the north shore and explore a portion of that lake.
We’ll meet at the public launch site located off S. Bohemian Rd. The School Lake launch is located within the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore and a park entrance pass is required. Arrive in time so that we can launch at 10:00 AM. All participants must bring their own kayak or canoe, and bring a PFD. This event is limited to 12, so please be sure to register.
