I was born, raised and have worked in southeastern Michigan my entire life. My role as a small business owner of a manufacturing company based currently in Highland, MI has afforded me an opportunity to travel the country over many decades, yet northern Michigan remains my “favorite place to be.” The four seasons of northern Michigan with its rich history is truly incomparable to any other place I have visited. I have lived in the Lake Leelanau area since 2014 and have now become a full time resident as of 2019.
My passion for outdoor activities including alpine skiing, mountain biking and hiking to name a few coupled with my interests in geological and human history. This fits well with the mission of the Leelanau Conservancy to conserve the land, water and scenic character of Leelanau County. I truly enjoy meeting people including my fellow docents, Conservancy members and guests who join us to hike the vast number of natural areas and other properties protected and managed by the Conservancy. I look forward to sharing my ever-growing knowledge about the land, its evolution and people history throughout the Leelanau peninsula. As a docent I also look forward to meeting others who share the love of the land and support our efforts to be good stewards which is so necessary to protect these coveted places.
