Jenny Young grew up camping and hiking with her family and has always had a love of the outdoors. So after retiring recently and relocating with her husband from Indianapolis to the Traverse City area, she took advantage of exploring all the beautiful natural areas in Leelanau County by hiking, bird-watching, cycling or kayaking. After spending a year as a trail steward, she decided to expand her volunteering with the Conservancy by becoming a docent. She also serves on the board of the Grand Traverse Audubon Club and is looking forward to sharing her enthusiasm of the great outdoors with others (particularly her passion for bird-watching).
