As the stewardship team’s Property & Trail Maintenance Specialist, Andrew’s focus is on maintaining trails and natural areas to facilitate accessible outdoor recreation for everyone. Having grown up in the woods and on the waters of Leelanau County, he feels especially grateful to be able to dedicate his time and energy toward their care.

Prior to joining the Leelanau Conservancy, Andrew worked for the National Park Service, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and University of Hawaii, primarily as a wildlife technician working with endangered birds and sea turtles. He also spent several seasons on the trail crew at Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore.

Andrew lives in Leelanau County with his partner Nicole and their dog Dexter. In addition to hiking and maintaining trails, he enjoys studying geography, watching Werner Herzog documentaries and being near the water.
