Raised on a small farm near Ada, Michigan, Amy Tennis holds an undergraduate business degree from Davenport University and a MBA from Grand Valley State University plus advanced certifications in benefits and human resources.
Until recently, Amy served as Oryana Community Co-op board president. She was a director for eight years.
Amy is the System Director of Compensation, Benefits and HRIS at Munson Healthcare. On evenings and weekends, she works with her husband Brian on a 30 acre MAEAP verified hops farm in Omena; home base for their business Michigan Hop Alliance, formed to assist other hop growers in need of farming information, access to processing equipment, marketing and sales to promote and cultivate a climate change resistant crop and make Michigan the primary source of hops for Michigan’s breweries.
Married for 30 years, Amy and Brian are Heritage Society members and live in the Indian Beach area of Northport on Grand Traverse Bay with their two rescued greyhounds.
