Up the Back of the “Whale” at Whaleback Natural Area

A grand vista, is your reward. Docents Bert Thomas, Cathy Stocker and Zachariah Johnson will guide you up the gentle switchback trail stopping occasionally to point out things of interest and reflect on the beauty of woodland walking on a summer morning. At the top we will imagine Leelanau of a different time as we look out over the vastness of Lake Michigan. We will walk the loop trail and then head back down. The hike starts a little earlier than usual to leave more of the day for other fun activities. We’ll be done before 11.
