Join docents Karl Hausler and Peter Wolcott for a snowshoe or hike through the best of winter’s beauty and ‘only in winter’ vistas at the Leelanau Conservancy’s new Stites Natural Area. The Stites Natural Area is within walking distance of the Village of Suttons Bay.
Spectacular ridgeline views, majestic hardwoods and winter wildlife sightings are all available at this 50-acre natural area. We will briefly discuss the glacial landforms whose outlines are so visible at this time of year. Stites Natural Area is located on Broadway, about .2 of a mile up the road from the Suttons Bay Post Office. The current trail system is a 0.65 mile out-and-back two-track with an initial steep incline. Please dress appropriately for that days weather.
