Old Camp Days in Leelanau Hike at Clay Cliffs Natural Area

Many of the early supporters of the Conservancy were descendants of resorters from the early 1900s who fell in love with Leelanau. On this hike at Clay Cliffs Natural Area docents Bert Thomas and Peter Wolcott will ruminate on life here in the old camp days. Join us, and if you have your own stories of those days, bring them along. What brought the early resorters, how did they live in primitive cabins, what did they do for fun and where did they come from? The hike starts at 10 a.m. and we will walk at a moderate pace along the trail up to the overlook of Lake Michigan.
