Why was Kehl Lake Natural Area (formally called Leg Lake) so special to the Native Indians who inhabited this area and then to the European immigrants who subsequently homesteaded there? From the forest floor to the canopy top of Kehl’s 279 acres and to the pristine lake this Natural Area has provided richly for humans and wildlife. Due
to very little disturbance from human occupation much of this Natural Area has retained its historical eco-diversity of habitats making it a library of the myriad interdependent species that predate human settlement. Join Conservancy guides Ann McInnis, Jane Gale and Mary Burton on a guided walk of exploration and discovery.
