Everything is connected!
Everything is connected.….including you… to the thousands of native pink lady slipper orchids (also called Moccasin flowers) that usually bloom around Memorial Day weekend at Houdek Dunes Natural Area. How are native flowering plants connected to insects, birds, and healthy soil? How are ants, fresh spring greens, and berries connected to Leelanau’s black bears and forest health? Could mice, woodpeckers, caterpillars, and frogs be connected to oak trees and clean water? What connections do fungi, moss, and lichen have in Nature’s systems? Join Conservancy docents Ann, Greg, and Bert On Sunday, May 25th at 2 pm to discover Nature’s awesome connectivity.
