We kept our milk cold in a lingering snow drift…

Submitted on 1/3/08

Leelanau is the quilt of trilliums beneath the budding maples that my father shared with me when I was a kid. It’s where I took my children to camp on spring break and we kept our milk cold in a lingering snow drift. It’s where I hope my grandchildren will float down the Crystal River and sneak up on a Merganser and her brood.
