Sandhill Cranes, frequently seen by Bodus Road, near Sweeter Song Farms.  They remain for the summer, possible because of numerous ponds in this beautiful area of rolling farmland.  Sandhills spend their nights standing in shallow water, a protection from predators, and migrate as far north as Alaska and into Siberia.
