I grew up in rural Minnesota, spent my working life in Chicago and am a retired attorney. I moved to Leelanau County on a part-time basis in 2007, after many years of vacationing here. My knowledge and concern about the natural and cultural environment of this area has grown through the years, due in large part to Conservancy hikes and local college classes. I am especially interested in the plant life, geography, and cultural history of the Leelanau peninsula. My goal as a docent is to introduce others to this environment, as a way to do my part in the Conservancy’s continuing efforts to preserve and protect this precious place.
