Planned Giving

The Leelanau Conservancy’s conservation commitments are perpetual: each time we protect a piece of land, we accept a legal obligation to steward and protect that land forever. Planned gifts help us plan for future years and if you have included the Conservancy in your will or estate plan, thank you. We know your decision required careful thought and planning, as well as an abiding trust in our organization.

Because documented deferred gifts help us plan for the future, they count toward Leelanau Forever Campaign goals. If you would like a planned gift to be included as a campaign commitment, we ask that you provide us with documentation.

To document a gift with the Leelanau Conservancy, please submit one of the following:

  • A copy of relevant pages from the will or trust that provide an estimated value of the gift.
  • A signed letter of intent from you, your attorney or financial advisor that includes the estimated value of your gift.

Contingent bequests are wonderful and we appreciate them! But for planning purposes, contingencies cannot be applied toward campaign goals.

Finally, we invite you to join the Heritage Society. If you have included the Conservancy in your estate plans, all you have to do is let us know so we can thank you for your commitment by including you in Society activities.

If you have questions or would like to learn more, please contact Leslee Spraggins, Leadership Giving Officer, at 231-256-9665 or [email protected]

As always, we recommend consulting your attorney or financial advisor as you consider a planned gift.
