Snowshoe/Hike at Kehl Lake Natural Area, Saturday, January 19th; 1pm
Join docents Marsha Buehler, Karl Hausler and Laura Paine on a walk through this largely flat, diverse natural area. If there’s a fresh snowfall, the hemlocks are sure to be beautiful! Kehl Lake Natural Area is rich in natural and human history. Learn about the landforms and soils, flora and fauna that have made the area appealing to both Anishinaabeg peoples and European settlers. The never-logged woods provide shelter from bitter winds, and it’s fun to look for signs of resident wildlife. The trail is a fairly level walk, but may be snowy and icy, so please be prepared. Depending on amount of snow, snowshoes may or may not be necessary. Photo by Ken Scott Photography.
