Marl Spring at Hatlem Creek Preserve — Saturday, August 1 at 10:00 am
Do you want to escape the crowds? Do you want to see a “cool” marl spring? Then join docents Sharon Oriel and Lou Ricord on at the Hatlem Creek Preserve. This quiet place helps to sustain the health of the Glen Lakes as streams and seeps feed into Hatlem Creek. The endangered Michigan monkey flower thrives in the preserve and the red shouldered hawk lives in the closed canopy. The marl spring is a treat to gaze upon. There is no trail so wear stout walking shoes. A walking stick and bug spray could be useful. Parking is along Plowman Road. And, bring your sense of adventure!
