Hike at Swanson Preserve–Saturday September 19 at 10 am

September 19th, 2015 at 10:00am — photo date/id:  view larger here: https://leelanauconservancy.org/Join docents JoAnne Gerben and Sharon Oriel as we walk through the beautiful Swanson Preserve.  This ecologically important area features wetlands and huge white pines, cedars and tamaracks as well as a wide variety of ferns and native plants.  Stopping at the edge of Little Traverse Lake, and the running water that feeds into the lake, we’ll explore the importance of clean, fresh water.  We’ll also see both the devastation of the August storm and the gradual recovery of this amazing preserve.  Insect spray and appropriate clothing/footwear are suggested.
