Enjoy the changing seasons with a hike to the top of Whaleback – a distinct feature on the Lake Michigan shoreline and an iconic landmark.  This fragile bluff rises 300 feet, providing lovely views of the Manitou Passage.  The plant lover will enjoy seeing the many interesting native plants which unfortunately includes some aggressive invasive species.  Large mature oaks and hemlocks provide a shady canopy for a cool walk.

Please note that the hike to the top is a steep, .4 mile trail.  Lots of roots and rocks – hiking poles or sticks recommended
