Awakening Wildlife Hike at Kehl Lake Natural Area — Sunday, April 30th at 2pm
Witness the early Spring explosion of sights and sounds from beneath the forest floor to the top of the forest canopy in this 279 acre unique natural area replete with cultural history, glacial geology, and a pristine lake and wetlands along with old growth woodlands. Even a beaver family has joined the assemblage of wildlife historically and presently found here. Longer daylight hours and warming temperatures are the signal for awakening wildlife to exploit fresh opportunities for making a living and rearing their next generation. Migrating birds are joining the woodland crew and sharp-eyed hikers will most likely spot some.
