Wildflower Rescue Volunteering

Sunday, May 10th | 5:00pm

Join the Leelanau Conservancy’s Wildflower Rescue Committee for a season of rescuing and rehoming native plants!

There are plenty of ways to get involved, from digging and potting, to setting up and working at our annual plant sale.

Click the “Sign up now” button and let us know how you are able to help this year! Our committee is also looking for new dig sites (where we rescue plants), so please be sure to check that box if we can reach out to you.

*Please note: the date and time listed above (May 10, 5 p.m.) only indicate when this listing will be taken down. For timing of volunteer opportunities, click through to our sign-up form.

Some things to know about the rescue/dig process:

  • We do not dig rare or endangered plants. All plants are inspected by the State Ag Dept. for disease.
  • We go into a site before roads are constructed, driveways are built, or building sites are dug.
  • The property owner’s wishes are respected, and plants that will not be destroyed are left on site, intact.

You can find more details on the Wildflower Rescue Committee here, or in this story about the committee’s legacy.

We hope you’ll join us! 🌸
