RESCHEDULED: LC Collective Spring Paddle Party

Sunday, May 31st | 2:00pm

Join the LC Collective‘s Hike Club for a spring paddle following the movement of water on the Cedar River out into Lake Leelanau!

Be ready to launch at Victoria Creek Community Park in Cedar at 2 pm. We plan to end our leisurely paddle at Solon Township Beach Park at 5 pm. with snacks, refreshments, and friends.

Some very important details:

Yes—this is a Point A to Point B paddle! Partner up with a buddy or take the opportunity to make new friends to commute back to the launch zone.

Recommended plan:

  • ~1:15 pm: Drop watercraft at Victoria Creek Community Park in Cedar.
  • Drive five minutes to Solon Township Beach Park to stage vehicles for post-paddle pickup.
  • ~1:30 pm: Carpool back to Cedar.
    • Make sure you have a plan for vehicle retrieval after snacks and social time!
  • By 1:45 pm: Prep equipment and get ready to launch.
  • ~1:50 pm: Quick intro and safety briefing before we hit the water together at 2 pm.

There will be one final shuttle car back from Solon Township Beach Park at 1:40 pm to ensure no one is left behind!

This paddle is hosted by LC Collective members Annalise Povolo of the Lake Leelanau Lake Association and Ella Skrocki of Sleeping Bear Surf. We’re excited to share our local water knowledge with you!

Please bring your own watercraft (kayaks or canoes recommended). If paddling via SUP, river fins are highly recommended, with the awareness that fins can catch on the river bottom or debris.

Every paddler must bring a personal flotation device. Water temperatures will still be very cold—please plan accordingly and participate at your own risk.

If your watercraft has been in another body of water within the past two weeks, please ensure it is clean and dry to help prevent the spread of aquatic invasive species.
