Linda Proffitt — Director

Linda and her husband Max began vacationing in northwest Michigan over 30 years ago.  They quickly fell in love with the natural beauty of Leelanau County, especially the lakes, vineyards, and farms.  Whereas they are now retired and live in Traverse City, they still feel they are “on vacation” whenever they spend time here.  Linda graduated from Capital University in Columbus, Ohio with a BA in sociology and was awarded both an MSSA and an MBA from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland. Linda worked for several not-for-profits, being instrumental in establishing hospice programs in Cleveland in the early 80s.  Most recently she was the Director of Adult Guardianship Services, a program which took guardianship of older adults and of individuals with a severe mental illness.  While in Cleveland Linda served on several boards.  She currently serves on the Outreach Committee of the Conservancy and makes calls to donors to thank them for their gifts.  She is co-vice-president of the Newcomer’s Club of Grand Traverse and also volunteers at the Traverse Health Clinic.
