I am a retired Registered Nurse and Michigan native who was first introduced to the beauty of northwest Michigan as a young Girl Scout attending summer camp at Long Lake near Traverse CIty. It was there that my interest in trees, wildflowers and birds began. Life took me to the prairie provinces of Canada where I lived for 33 years hiking, camping and canoeing the rivers, lakes and mountains of Saskatchewan and Alberta. I am thrilled to be back in northwest Michigan amidst the natural beauty of Leelanau County. Being a docent on the trails of the Leelanau Conservancy is like Girl Scout Camp for grown-ups!
