Cammie Buehler – Director
Cammie Buehler grew up in Cincinnati, OH. A fifth generation summer kid in Omena, the carefree Leelanau days we’ve all experienced played a huge part in her formative years. Cammie attended Ohio University where she earned a BS in Outdoor Education/Adventure Recreation.
Following college, she relocated to North Lake Tahoe where she rode her way to a PSIA Level 3 certification in snowboard instruction and pioneered women’s specific snowboard education programs at Squaw Valley. Evenings were spent cooking and catering throughout Tahoe & Truckee.
In 2003, she returned home for the summer to help her friend Andy Schudlich with his new catering business. She decided the pull to move back to the Midwest was too great to ignore, and the team moved into their permanent location, Cherry Basket Farm, the following year. 15 years and hundreds of events later, Epicure Catering is an award- winning Farm to Table catering company and is still going strong. After years of rehabbing the property, Cherry Basket Farm is now an established event venue. The property has won multiple awards, both in the event realm and for the historic preservation efforts of the property’s owners (and Conservancy Sustainers!), Tom & Marsha Buehler. The farm was also recently listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Cammie and her business partner Andy at Epicure Catering have been working with and supporting the Conservancy since 2005. Their deep connection to the natural landscape of Leelanau and understanding of the value of the preservation of vital farmland has driven their dedication to the mission. She looks forward to bringing her skillset as a small business owner, community member, and avid freelancer to the board.
Cammie resides in Traverse City with her partner, Tyler Blumenfeld.
