Port Oneida Rural Historic District Tour

Thursday, August 1st | 3:45pm

Join Historic Sleeping Bear, a nonprofit partner of Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, on a tour of this 19th century agricultural community. We will meet at the Olsen Farm/Port Oneida Farms Heritage Center (across the street from the Dechow Farm) at 3164 W. Harbor Hwy. (M-22). We’ll car caravan, and get inside some of the farmsteads in Port Oneida to learn about the pioneer settlement, history of the people who lived here, and hopes for future use. Tours will be led by Bill Herd, retired ranger of 32 years at Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore and serves as Board Chair of Historic Sleeping Bear, and Susan Pocklington, Executive Director.

Please note: The number of cars will be limited on the tour (we encourage carpooling!). When you sign up, enter the number of people that will be coming in your car.  Registration will not be available once the maximum number has been registered.
